I really appreciate having an online service to take care of my taxes, and TurboTax's website is visually engaging and loaded with algorithmic rules to ensure that mistakes are not made. However, the charging tactics that TurboTax employs are intentionally non-transparent. At the end, I had a $45 "Premium Services" fee tacked on, which I never elected for. I have very simple taxes for which I did not need this service. In fact, NO SERVICE WAS RENDERED! Effectively, they took an additional 5% cut on my returns. Why does the government not have its own internet service to avoid this extraction? Shame on you, TurboTax, for these furtive means of profiteering. I will not recommend you to anyone else. And go figure, the terms and conditions indemnify Intuit for these garbage practices.
easy to file, it gets easier every year you file with TurboTax (historical information and platform improvements!) affordable fees and love the Identity protection
I went to the community forum but it was very complicated to navigate. In years past, i used to get a personalized written summary just before filing, but not this time. Too many e-mails and reminders thru the process from turbo tax. Transferring data from employers and financial institutions rarely works for me. When backing up thru the software to check or make adjustments, you have to repeat alot of pages to get back to where you left off.
