A Woman to the Rescue

I had to file an amended return after I received two unexpected 1099s. Everything went well until the review at the very end when I got caught in a computer loop corning my IRA (not one of the late 1099s). I had withdrawn more than the RMD from the IRA last year, but the program seemed to think I hadn't withdrawn enough. It seemed to have mixed up the two figures. I finally requested a human to help me and spoke to a very helpful woman named Tapei. She guided me through deleting the original IRA 1099 and then redoing it. This solved the problem. I was very happy because I had spent more than an hour going through the loop without solving the problem on my own. Kudos to Tapei!
