Turbo Tax does the job, but is not easy

While TurboTax covers all the bases of tax preparation requirements, they don't really make it easy. The software is also not oriented to the taxpayer who pretty well knows what they need to do, or the taxpayer who likes to start a return and add to it as documents are received. The downloaded 1099's are not as helpful, as the information is not readily visible for comparison to the hard-copy versions. (I'm talking about you, 1099-B!) The edit functions require the user to continually return to supplemental/followup questions that were previously answered, and it is not clear if the previous answers have been retained or replaced by defaults.

It made me redo a bunch of stuff manually at the end in a non-user friendly way, which made me have to read and decipher tax forms. When I tried to access help the interface blocked my from typing inquiries.

Turbo Tax works good.

Overall, it worked great. There were a couple of seemingly minor issues that we could not figure out using the tools available.
