Terrible Experience as a longterm user

Experience was trash, got to the end Turbotax had no problem taking their amount. But wouldn't allow me to make edits on form 5805 for California. Made me sit there with the inability to edit the file, wasted my time and money.

Predatory and buggy even after all these years

TurboTax has become a masterclass in predatory upselling and dark patterns. Every step of the way, they try to trick you into upgrading to a paid version, signing up for unnecessary services, or "consenting" to share your personal data with marketing partners. They make sure to collect your money before actually fixing any issues, and once you hit a roadblock, good luck. Editing forms is a nightmare, and their AI-powered automated system is completely useless. It misinterprets issues, offers zero meaningful assistance, and leaves you stuck in a loop of frustration. TurboTax isn't a tax service, it's a relentless money grab disguised as one. Avoid if you can, I'm trapped because I've filed with them so many other times.
