TurboTax: so-so

I've used it for years, and it seems more annoying every year, asking repeatedly do I want to upgrade, same questions over and over again as I review. I used to really like it, but less so each year.

Turbo Tax is only ok

Turbo tax used the value in box 16 for state distribution from 1099s but that box is optional and some institutions do not put anything in the box. The way Turbo Tax adds things up does not agree with a spreadsheet, even if the final numbers agree - for instance I had 4 W-2. The number Turbo Tax put in line 1 did not agree with any of the 4 W-2s or sum of any of them but Turbo Tax put additional income in, which did not agree with the sum of any of the W-2s, but the sum of the line 1 plus additional income equaled the sum of the 4 W-2s. Also when going through the income and Turbo tax came up with a number on the summary which was not the sum of the items listed, but on the Income Tax form, the interest agreed. This made me think things were missing or wrong and caused me a lot of additional time. It would be nice if one could see at least the 1040 form before saying it is correct and sending it in. Because I could not see things, and no where did Turbo Tax show me my state deduction, etc, and again the numbers didn't match, I didn't send in my state with Turbo Tax. I'll do it on the state website or even by paper.
