Good Tool for Self-Preparation of Taxes

I wasn’t happy that this software did not default to the discount promised for filing before 2/28/25. Otherwise, it’s an easy and useful tool to use to self-prepare our taxes.

Worked, but didn't like "surprise, you owe a lot"

I have been happy with it in the past, but this year it did a very poor job keeping me updated of the status of my return. So I ended up being surprised multiple times with my tax owed increasing each time. Not a fan.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments
