Turbo Tax is pretty good

Been using Turbo Tax for many years and I have never had a problem with the government since then. That's said, when a hitch comes up while entering info, they don't explain the problem well. They do offer help via telephone, but this year they said that to ask for help via telephone you have to call using their phone app. I think you can do it via desktop, but I couldn't find it. However, it was eventually done and I was able to e-file. The people on the phone were very nice, even though it was 11pm!

THE FEES ARE OUT OF HAND!!!! I DID IT MYSELF FOR 3 ., NO HELP , FROM YOUR SITE..AT THE END IT WAS $$$ 160 $$$ INSANE! THEN NOW THE SCAM AT THE END CHARGNG $$$$ 40 $$$$$ TO PROCESS YOUR PAYMENT !! THIS WILL BE MY LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN a LOYAL TURBO TAX FILER BUT THIS IS TO FAR AND TO MUCH! I WILL POST ABOUT THE FEE AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO USE A DIFFERENT SERVICE BECAUSE WHAT DO WE GET NOW ?? IT USED TO MEAN SOMETHNG NOW ITS A MONEY GRAB! JUST DISAPPOINTED.

Still gets the job done well

although it's a bit of a black box, it's one that works. Have used it for more than 5 years now and it is solid. This year (2024) I felt the user experience was lacking a bit from 2023, but the help section was more accurate in its search responses.

Terrible software issues

This has been the worst year filing taxes. For something like uploading my Robinhood 1099 form to help it be quicker , it was not quicker. I spent 4 hours trying t fix mistakes that your software made after uploading it. terrible experience will be looking for other platforms to use to file next year.
