The experience with Turbo Tax has greatly degraded over time - it's nothing like it once was.
Moreover, I find mistakes and glitches for which there is no way to report or deal with and resolve on my own, i.e. direct deposit on first pass skipped the State Refund interface, but reported it as done - how? Second pass - functioned as expected, fully.
As well, other things that are confidence killers like verifying the DOB on the eFiled returns - there is no DOB to check there on that file to "Review" - only the name and SS number.
Additionally and stunningly, I didn't file yesterday, it took me more than 2x's their estimated time. If I trusted the program, maybe 1.5 hours, otherwise, now, including this morning. is more like 6 hours. - And then find out less than 12 hours or so later I am up-charged +$50 with no notice or warning. I understood if file prior to the 18th of February of a discount - nothing else. Had I known, well, then I would have known.
I went in to check all the "cookies" on my PC, like ~ 60 +- or so... deleted all, restarted hoping to get my initial charge of $138 vs 158 LESS TAXES OMG now +$8.05 so nearly now $200, wow.
I'll have to look into the IRS software no that Trump is back and, or H&R Block which now, again, fully imports all. It just sucks to have to deal with this after all these years of paying more anyway with online vs what I used to do with CD's, etc.
A VERY dissatisfied customer here, and a long time one. I remember how the program used to "interrogate" the information out of you with a video - fool proof. That changed and wound up having to amend one year since missed an otherwise deduction. I have low confidence in this program anymore and at the rate they try to UP-SELL you with Nag Screens, if a flag that maybe NEED that up-charge?
Just stop lobbying the government for this service to continue being a paid service. It should be free, and supported by the government, as they already have this information.
