Very sneaky service, always have new payment traps every year. If you have simple returns (W-2 only etc) DO NOT PAY. You DO NOT have to accept TurboTax sharing your information or storing your information, you can choose "No Thanks" on these authorization forms. You may think it's "convenient" to pay for TurboTax services with your federal refund, it is NOT. TurboTax takes $40 more for this "convenience" DO NOT RECOMMEND. Pay with debit/credit instead. Be aware of what you are clicking at all times, TurboTax will do whatever they can to manipulate you into giving them money when it's completely unnecessary.
Every time I try to make a click selection it brings up a definition of the term. I have to carefully click on an edge around any lettering. From the start, I couldn't figure out how to buy a product. Inside my account it offered to bring up previous year but then asked for a download but I hadn't bought any. The system wouldn't let me see products to make a selection. Then somehow it started and said it would select at the end. It seemed blind like I didn't have an option for a cheaper version if I wanted it. Previous years I got over $600 from state. This year $10?? I have to say it seems quick once it starts. Particularly when it pulls over info from previous years. Don't like that the company seems to have this info tho. I will not do this again.
Ease of use, fast and efficient! All IRS rules are explained in easy to understand terminology, I feel confident my taxes are filed correctly every year.
Don't care for the gimmicks regarding pricing deals. Make it a fixed price and be done with it, vs. a special for February, which you don't get in March. The constant requests to upgrade gets old pretty quickly. Other than that, TurboTax is pretty easy to use.
