id honestly leave a 0 star rating because i just wanted my free tax filing the government allows me to have by law. but of course you guys come up with some crap to go ahead and charge me anyways what an absolute racket

Awful & Annoying - Why Change a Good Product?

This new direct purchase product is horrible as compared to the many year's I have purchase Turbotax at retailers and downloaded it to my pc/laptop. The interface/walkthrough is a far cry from the prior year's software. Very non user friendly. The "Forms" access is gone where you could easily check the details when needed while going through drafts of the return. The software never asked me if my wife and I received social security when our occupations are "Retired" and we are both 70 years old. It took me a long time to figure out how I could find a way to input our SSI earnings, tax withholding and medicare data. Another thing the software did not ask me was whether I wanted to apply all or a portion of the calculated refund to next year's taxes even though I did the same thing last year. Again, it took me searching around to finally find where I could have my entire refund applied to next year.
I also found it very annoying that the software continually tries to sell me online assistance when I have never asked or needed it. Yet it kept coming up that for another $100 or so I could speak with someone. All about the money!
In summary, I cannot fathom why you would not keep the same look and feel that you had on the retail product in this new direct online sale product. For next year I am going to look at other options.

Very good - but missing a much appreciated feature

I was VERY disappointed that my product no longer included the Refund Meter at the top of the page. (In previous years, this would provide a running tally of my refund/owed amount based on the info provided so far.) That feature gave me a feeling of security as I progressed through my documents.
