Annoying to avoid paid upgrades

They try to trick you into upgrading whenever possible. In addition, if you had anything to do with crypto at all, you cannot use the free product, and are forced to pay for their premium product at minimum.

Should be a free alternative somewhere

Prices are a total ripoff, 'discounts' are not real savings. Changes this year made the filing more confusing than normal to try to make you to pay for a tax expert to answer the questions that they caused. The tax filing process feels slimy every year using this website. Actively looking for an alternative.

Turbo Tax isn't the same

I have used Turbo Tax for my taxes for since 2010. This year I had the worst experience. I logged into Turbo Tax and did not see any of my past returns and had to enter everything in from scratch. I was kicked out in the middle of entering one of my W2s and during the initial Federal Review I had to enter everything in from scratch again. Things were less intuitive this year and I experienced multiple rework loops and had to recheck the same boxes multiple times during multiple review processes. This is probably my last year with Turbo Tax.
