I have always enjoyed your services, however, this year you prevented me from getting my free Veteran's filing. Even your help function stating how to remove Premium didn't work. I restarted multiple times at the beginning to look for the hook to use basic/free service, but never found the button. You have let me down this year.
We had an awesome experience with Ms. Jackie. She was patient and persistent. It took over an hour to discover the problem but she was determined. We were befuddled but she never gave up. Thank you Ms. Jackie!
Honestly it was a littler harder than I expected it would be. There were fees that popped up that surprised us and you were stuck in the middle of completing something and then to continue you had to agree to the fees. In the end it seemed to push you toward accepting a fast return for yet another hidden fee. In the small business area I felt completing a schedule C on my own on the IRS website would've been easier...it was not that accurate through the software and was far more confusing than the IRS form.
I can't thank TurboTax enough. I used it for years and was getting discouraged and had gone to another service. After my frustrating experience this year with another tax software, I came back! This was so easy, and I was really done in 50 minutes. But had a little trouble with Captcha getting stuck on my submission page. But after texting Help and the suggestion to refresh my browser, Wow I am done!
I like aspects of the software, like how easy it generally is to navigate and the additional information you can get when you need it. However, I do not like how frequently and at times sneakily they try to get you to spend more on their services. A good example of this is the view towards the end that looks like it is about how you want to receive your funds (direct deposit to your credit karma account or your bank account up to 5 days earlier). I missed the "no thanks" at the bottom indicating that this screen was optional and was surprised to see $70 of additional fees added for "processing". Going back through I figured it out and how to remove it, but it just felt so underhanded and sneaky.
