Great service; going downhill

Been using TurboTax to file since I was a teenager, and have grown into a small business owner. The product is still good, but I've slowly watched it get more and more confusing over the years. Filing has become a lot more expensive and TurboTax/Intuit feels like it's constantly trying to confuse you in order to nickel and dime you with conveinence and "live assistance." TT is still my preferred way to do my taxes as a small business owner, but if it gets any more expensive or gets any more confusing, I will be shopping for alternatives.

I've used Turbo Tax for myself, no assistance for years. They make the process simple giving me the specifics I need to detail every step of the way and way less time than in an office with someone!

HDHP Default Prevents E-File

There was a continuing problem where Turbotax would not let me e-File due to an issue with a high deductible heath plan, a plan that neither my wife or myself had. Turbotax defaulted that I had to answer who had the plan, myself or my wife, before I was able to file. I went back through our HSA questions, a plan that we do have, multiple times before I found the box I had to unselect to have the capability to e-File.

TurboTax gets better every year!

I believe TurboTax is the best online tax prep available. Up-to-date, quick and concise with their questions.
When I got engaged years ago, my now husband convinced me to go through his CPA to file. I agreed, and paid the large fee for the CPA that year. I went ahead and put my information into TurboTax to compare and the TurboTax refund would have been $4 more than the CPA's. I won't use any other tax prep again.
