Tricky Forms & Surprise Fees

I’ve used TurboTax before, but this year was by far the most frustrating experience. First, they try to force you into signing forms that you don’t necessarily want to sign, and once you land on that page, it’s nearly impossible to exit or bypass it. It feels like they’re trapping you into agreeing to something you don’t fully understand or need.
Then there’s the pricing scam. They advertise the Deluxe edition, which seems like it should cover everything, but when you’re finally ready to file, they suddenly say you need to upgrade to Premium—at the last minute! By that point, you’ve already put in all the effort to enter your tax info, so you’re basically stuck and forced to pay extra just to finish.
This kind of bait-and-switch pricing and the forced form-signing tactics are incredibly shady. I am not sure that I will use Turbo Tax next year

I've been using TurboTax for over 10 years and its so easy. User friendly, tax filling for dummies because it talks you through everything and does the work for you. It keeps your info stored each year so you don't need to add your personal info each time.

Overall a good experience, the program was user friendly and not especially complicated. The continual upsells throughout the process, were annoying, insulting and somewhat deceiving.

This year was a little more challenging because I had energy credits and short term capital gains that I never had before. Turbo Tax made it pretty easy, which I continue to use this service very year.
