Lazy Mans Filing Service

Been using TurboTax for over 15 years. Never had an issue. Easiest and most affordable way to file your taxes. Frequent updates after you file to let you know the status of your return and when to expect to receive it. I also love that you can download your previous 8 years of returns. That came in handy this year when both my primary and back up hard drives crashed.

Paying Multiple Times for One Service

I understand that there are separate charges for filing federal and state taxes, and I’m not disputing those. I knowingly filed both. What isn’t clear is why I’m also being charged for what appears to be an additional “service” just to transfer my refund.
That’s where the confusion comes in—and even writing this, I’m still not fully sure what that fee actually covered. The entire experience felt like one continuous, guided process where I entered my own information and followed prompts, yet the final cost was broken into multiple charges without a clear explanation of what each one truly added.
If I’m paying for a service, I should be able to clearly understand what that service is. Instead, it felt like I was paying again simply to complete the filing and receive my refund. This should be one clearly priced service, not several loosely explained charges at the end.
