There was nothing to tell me what my return would be if I didn't accept the student credit that was automatically accepted for me (I wasn't given an option to decline) so I was basically forced to pay $49 for a special return. Then, to get my refund direct deposited, I had to pay another $35 or set up another checking account that I don't need or want. There was no other option to receive my federal refund. So calling this a free product is an absolute scam when I'm unwillingly forced into situations where I'll have to pay money.

I’ve been using turbo since I could file my own taxes (2017) and I’ve never been charged so many fees or any for that matter. Where are all these fees coming from? And why do I have to pay to file my own taxes? Your whole slogan was “file for free” now it’s a fee for anything that would make filing easy.
