Turbo tax is not intuitive

Frustrating to be charged $79 for Turbo tax Deluxe so that I can claim a credit worth $30. No option to decline the credit so all I could do accept the credit and pay the money.

I was under the impression I wasn't supposed to be charged. After I manually entered everything in, I was charged $79 plus tax.

TURBO TAX is GREEDY

Trying to use this system for a simple tax return, utilizing the free edition because it is for my son. He is a student and doesnt make alot of money. However, he does have a savings account that he earned $6.02 on and he contributed to an IRA for the first time. This contribution made no difference to the amount he received as a refund. I was forced to upgrade to the deluxe system even though it really was not needed. Charged $79 for this and then charged $64 for my state return. This USED to be FREE. Also tried to use his refund to pay for the expenses however, turbo tax charged for that as well.
DO BETTER TURBO TAX!!
