Why isn't free turbotax free

Making me pay for deluxe because of one part of my returns is ridiculous. If its going to be free filing then make it free. I'm not spending money again to file with you if I have to pay for it.

don't hide the fees please

I had no explanation for the rate charged at the end... it kind of just showed up as "deluxe" at the end. Also, there was the hidden fees that were very frustrating. 40$ processing to take the payment from our refund, then the 35$ fee to transfer to CreditKarma Money. Other than that, positive is that it was Fast. Easy. Nice visual explanations. Makes the experience a bit more fun to do.

Interesting how FREE is so broadly advertised and thrown in our faces and somehow after choosing every option that requires no fee I suddenly have to pay $143 after entering all my information myself!

Used this program sometime when I am in a hurry but, it gets worse every time. And it is continuously trying to sell you stuff you don't need and make it difficult to do anything other than that. Just easier to file yourself.
