TurboTax Has Sneaky Fees

There are undisclosed fees half way into your filing process. Filing ends up costing more than the original promotion. TurboTax makes it seem like these are optional fees that can be avoided by manually entering your own tax information, but there is no option to do so.

Predatory, scam, overpriced

TurboTax just keeps adding fees as you go, while also asking you if you'd like to pay even more. They do this to make you want to just accept the fees to get on with this unnecessarily arduous process, which feels worth it because you're more willing to pay the fees than start over with another service. They obviously know this and prey on it. Not the mention that they lobby the government to keep taxes difficult and keep the responsibility on the individual in order to keep their racket going. In every other country I've lived in, the government just does the taxes for you and lets you dispute it if you think it's wrong. TurboTax is evil and I will be using another service next year.
