always goes well until i get to the end and find out im being forced to pay yet again for another year. basically impossible to get a free file and i have nothing special going on. just wasting 150 every year for nothing

Yet again, Turbo tax has forced me to pay more money than it told me I would.
First it forced me to upgrade due to having a Traditional IRA when I in fact only have a Simple IRA. There was no way to back out of this and the only way to proceed was to let it tell me I had a Traditional. As a result, I had to upgrade because my situation was "unique."
I was asked multiple times if I wanted to upgrade, was given to option to say no, and was forced to by the end of it all.
Then, to add insult to injury, I was given my final pricing and was informed that both federal and state would come with separate charges. After choosing to pay with my refund, only to be brought to a new payment screen where I was informed, I would need to pay an extra 40 dollars in processing fees if I wanted to pay with my refund. Ridiculous.
In order to avoid giving more money to this shady company I had to pay 150 upfront, which I really wasn't prepared for. What was supposed to be free, or at least cheap (I would've been happy if all I paid was 50 bucks) came out to roughly 150$, and could have been roughly 200$ if I said yes to the processing fees of paying with my return.
Absolutely disappointed and will never return to this company for my tax needs ever again.
