Sneaky charges

It gets worse and worse every year.

It gets more and more difficult every year to file the same tax returns I’ve been filing for 20 years. Nothing ever changes but I have to constantly fix things that aren’t on w2s or anything.

Goods and Bads

The goods:
- Easy filing for simple tax situations
- Relatively cheap
- Quick (I did all of my tax filing in around 60-90 mins)

The bads:
- I was charged for “MAX” service at the end which wasn’t even in my cart (had a total of $143 for federal and state returns in my cart and then was charged $202)
- I had to go through multiple support members to get the above resolved (the first few just said “sorry, nothing I can do” because I did self-service and did not pay more to file using an agent).
- Constant ads for other services
- Some of the wording in sections (especially in deductions and health insurance/HSA coverage) could use more clarification
