Not Free for 1040?

The process was easy and painless, however I filed a 1040 and it still charged me 50 dollars to file. This is my first year returning to TurboTax after several years of using others. I saw the deal.

Useful but severly overpriced

While the ease of use has certainly gotten better, the nickle and dime microtransactions sprinkled through the whole process are extremely annoying. You get a promise of it being $49 to file in the beginning and by the end you are stuck paying $177 in fees just to get your money. It doesn't help that we aren't able to file online for free anymore.
