Something isn't right.

I've used Turbo Tax every year since 2020. I had an issue with my 2021 federal refund that required me to fax a form to the IRS to fix, which I did in June 2022. I was told I'd receive my refund in 6 - 8 weeks. I never got it. After several years of calling the IRS and anxiously waiting for my refund, I called again in Nov 2024. The IRS rep told me they issued my refund in August. This confused me greatly since I never got any deposits for the amended refund amount from the IRS or US Treasury. We mostly figured it out: The first issue is that i was looking for a deposit for $417 from IRS or US Treasury. The rep had never heard of Turbo Tax's third party payment processor, Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG, formerly SBBT) so we figured it out by date of deposit. The most problematic issue: Santa Barbara Tax Products Group deposited $120 to my bank account instead of my full refund with no notice or reason given. The IRS confirmed it should have been a couple hundred dollars more, and said there was no reason it would have been less. An additional authorization and reccomendation to release remaining funds was made and I was informed it could take 30 days before I got the money. Fast forward about 2 months to Feb 5 2025, and I have yet to receive any deposits or communications from Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG, formerly SBBT) or the IRS.
While filing my 2024 taxes today, I learned Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG, formerly SBBT) is a contractor for Turbo Tax/Intuit, not the IRS. I've seen stories from other people with similar negative experiences regarding their tax refund and Santa Barbara Tax Products Group.
Also today, as I was making my payment to file on Turbo Tax, I noticed a significant extra charge on my total. I never intentionally opted in for any additional services, it was certainly never clear to me if I did. I distinctly remember opting out of several opportunities to add on premium services throughout the process, which was honestly super annoying, but whatever. It felt very predatory to me, and I couldn't just opt out of whatever services unknowingly bestowed upon me, but instead had to delete my entire return and start over from scratch. It was unnerving, and after finally learning how I ever got entangled with Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, it all just left a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm not confident I'll use Turbo Tax/Intuit to file future taxes. I was laid off in 2023 and disabled. I still need answers regarding this issue. The only thing that will change my mind is my payment in full and an explanation and/or apology.
It didn't have my last years information available to compare to. I prefered the CD version which had that and the refund counter at the top of the window.
