Turbotax is very shady, but it's the devil I know. It hides certain consent forms until the very end, and forces customers to go back if they decline. The information sharing consent forms themselves are deceptive, and say contradictory things (e.g. the top of the website will say that I need to complete the form, but the text below will say I do not). The fact that TurboTax hides that it costs an extra $40 to pay your fees with the refund until the very end, and you have to click an extra link to learn that information is practically fraudulent. Do better please. Your product would be great if you went about it honestly, but I don't think Intuit has it in them.
if you exercise iso's and hold, you need to find where to fill them it never prompts by going back in the process manually.
Once you report them on the income section you have do it again in another that its not prompted again.
Instructions are not clear on the flow, it asks for ISO adjustment but it does not explain what it is, it gives an example that does not have the answer for the value you will have to fill.
Had to go to the IRS find the correct form and there it had the same example but complete.
Don't use AI to summarize the explication and if you do at least check that it has the appropriate info.
But all that could be automated since you already given them the info before. Also if you didn't sell any stock instructions don't tell you what to do it would be better to have a did you sold any stocks? and then if yes ask for fields to be filled.
At the end of the day if you have a bit more than standard taxes you better pay up for support or be prepared to spend some time doing research.
I probably wont use the service again since if I need help from a tax professional I don't want it to be online I prefer it in person and it will be about the same price.
