This free tax return cost me $82+. I am a retired City of Phoenix employee and I have a very easy tax return. I get social Security disability and a small amount from Phoenix. Shouldn’t be more than 20 minutes to do like it was 3 years ago before all of this intuit crap started. Fake advertising stinks and I am going to let as many people know as I can. I’m going to post my experience on the city’s website. First it tells you federal and state is free when I got done with federal and started on state it told me it was reduced to $39 to file state. So when I finished state and was going through all of the second and third second checks and thought I was finally done it then told me that my free tax filing to federal was going to cost me $39 also.
I don’t know about you but when you say free and then charge $82+ I don’t think that’s free. The only one that I knew was going to cost me anything was for state and I wasn’t until I was finished.
I could have gone to the senior center and had it done for FREE. $0
