Needs improvement

The live expert was very helpful. He led me through the process of renaming1099R forms so that North Carolina could recognize that income as military retired pay which is not taxable in that state.
My overall rating of TurboTax is poor because it has taken an inordinately long time (almost 4 hours) to file my taxes this year. I have used TurboTax for several years but it has never taken this long. I spent a lot of time trying to upload documents but receiving only "Something went wrong. Try again later" messages. That's in addition to the time required to rename the 1099R forms which, BTW, were both accepted with the original titles in prior years.

TurboTax is useful but becoming costly

TurboTax is great to use in regards to a program for the average person to use to complete their taxes. The fees have continued to rise however, and that will become an issue for most.

not worth the price if all you have is w2s

Every year its advertised as free or "only $35" or some similar price, then without fail EVEN when following the "click here to file for free" link it always charges me 70-some odd dollars. They surely have their legal bases covered to be able to advertise it like that then come at you with all the hidden fees. You have to wait until the end of answering all the tax questions to see what the charge is and by that point I am *usually* too annoyed to click out and re do it on a different website(although i have done it before). I gave 3 stars because i actually really DO like the user-interface of the turbotax website but I probably wont use it next year because there are actual free options out there.
