Software is okay. It will file correctly, but they put a lot of bells and whistles in that slow things down, and they are constantly trying to upsell the user on additional services. Some of these pages are what I would call "deliberately misleading" where the options are "Buy Option A" and "Option B", but you CAN hit the 'back' button instead to ignore. Very shady, it is clearly designed to make the user feel that they cannot continue without purchase of an additional product. The software is not very easy to navigate if you step away from their straight-line format. For example, upon completion of the state filing segment, I realized that I must have mistyped my state withholdings due to a return estimate that was too large. It was not easy to get back to my original W2 input where I could view and correct the amount. It turns out that they make it easy to buy TurboTax products, but the meat and potatoes of a tax return is not nearly so smooth navigating. I ended up having to sign out and back in to get back to the page I was looking for. Every year, my 1099-INT throws the software off. I do not have any value in box 17, but they keep sending me back to fix the "error" until I just give up and put in a "0" to make the system happy. There is no option for "I reviewed this and there is no value on my form". Disappointing that they don't have a fix for that after 3 or 4 years experiencing the same issue. I guess they spend their money on new pages trying to sell you another service instead of flushing out user interface issues. When all is said and done, they attempt a final mislead with their "one more step..." message, which is really a veiled beg to get users to review them. Well, here's your review.
