The 1040-X Amend was perhaps the most confusing process with Turbo Tax I've encountered. I was beyond frustrated trying to figure out how to complete such a simple error on last year's taxes. Which Turbo should have caught. So simple. My property taxes were on my state form but not entered on my federal, come on Turbo how you didn't see that?? Turbo now showed that my error would refund me $972.00. The questions being asked in order to file the amend 1040X form extremely frustrating, clearly should of had "info "or "help buttons" to assist me in selecting the right boxes to check off to complete and file. The fact that turbo didn't date the forms from last year is mind blowing., I had a screen shot that showed when I filed last year. Why wasn't the file date on my printout forms Turbo??..ughhhhh. Fingers crossed the Amend is okay. I can't even say for sure which is ridiculous after being online for over 2 hours.
I think that it is gross that you constantly upsell products after advertising that you can file your own taxes for free and then when you remove what products you can, you charge a $40 filing fee anyways. When truthfully, Turbotax didn't do the filing. A computer system did and I did myself. If it wasn't for it being cheaper, I wouldn't use the service. Although somebody in my town only charges $150/family for complex taxes and I paid $128 for Turbotax this year. That's the most yet so next year, I may just use that person instead of turbotax. Pretty sad.
