TurboTax Review: Smooth But Redundant in Some Area

I found TurboTax easy to use, especially when uploading my W-2 and health insurance forms. The deductions section was straightforward, and I appreciated how smoothly that part went.
However, a few things felt unnecessarily redundant:
Even though I uploaded my W-2 and health insurance form, I still had to manually enter my employer’s tax ID and my insurance subscriber number. If the system can read my documents, why isn’t that auto-filled?
The payment section was a bit misleading—it looked like I was paying $39, but at the end, it doubled to $78 because state and federal charges were separate. Maybe that was mentioned somewhere, but it wasn’t clear upfront.
The AGI verification at the very end was frustrating. Since I filed with TurboTax last year, why wasn’t that automatically pulled? Luckily, I had it saved in my Google Drive, but if I didn’t, it would have been a huge headache.
Driver’s license entry—why do I need to re-enter the same license I’ve used for four years with TurboTax? It should be stored and verified automatically.
Overall, it was a smooth process, but TurboTax should communicate upfront exactly what documents and information will be required so filers can be prepared. These small frustrations added unnecessary stress to an otherwise efficient system.

needs improvement of Turbo Free

All is well except I could not file for free because I over paid on my social security tax by $1.00 which in turn then cost me 88.00 for which I think a program should only recognize a larger amount of over paid.

Use ANY Other Tax Service!

This is my final year using Turbo Tax. The upselling on everything, and the lack of ease of use to lock you into options is terrible. I had to re-enter my tax return in entirety due to the inability to remove the $25 'Faster Direct Deposit' I clicked as it was located above standard direct deposit. Well in the process of clearing all of my data out of agitation I decided I was done with Turbo Tax so I went to Tax Act instead.. Come to find out I had to return to Turbo Tax as I had -ALREADY- paid for the $39 basic filing (without filing because there's another $40 charge on top for using your return instead of instant paying with a credit card so I wanted to go back to payment method to boot) so I HAD to come back to file as it was already paid for. Without a doubt this is my last year using Turbo Tax. Going on 22 years of using them this was the final nail in the coffin.. There has to be better choices out there to use.

Turbo Tax, you changed

There have been changes made to this website which made what to do, very confusing. At one point we were shown to be getting state refund back and then in one click owing, without explanation. Very confusing
