Frustrated!

I've used Turbo Tax for several years, It has always been extremely user friendly, and simple to enter my income information. This year, I could not enter data in my existing 1099-r forms. Very frustrating, in the end, I had to enter new 1099-r forms to get my income data entered, then I received questions about the original (Blank) forms. This needs to be simpler for an old guy!!!!

Turbo Tax is Awesome

The software is easy to use for the most part. There were a couple of snags...a few things I got stuck on. But as the years go on the program is easier and easier. I actually enjoy doing it better than prior years.

TurboTax is predatory

I was duped into paying for TurboTax Deluxe by the program walking me through tax credits I could receive, which I eventually learned isn't a "simple filing". Once I did that I couldn't opt out of the credit to finish filing and the $17 I "saved" ended up taking $118 out of my federal refund. Pay attention fully when looking through your deductions and credits!!

The process of covering all the details is A-1. The only thing that I saw which was wrong was when it got down to calculating the tax, it calculated 10% of $11,100.00 to be $1,113.00. I have no idea where that came from but it was only $3 so not worth worrying about.
