Sneak Fee

I was charged $78 for using turbo tax and then I was charged an additional amount for processing fees. This additional fee was listed in the terms and conditions section that I slowly scanned as if I was actually reading them. I wish I had known about this fee up front so that I could have grumbled about it then and had it not feel like it was being snuck in at the last minute.

Child credit and Free filling

Filing was supposed to be free. I was charged $39 for Federal and $39 for State taxes filed for 2024.
I was also confused why I did not receive full amount of $2k per child for child dependent tax credit, but only $2k for one of my children and only $39 for my other child? Also did the government change the amount entered for Mortgage interest? It only gave me a range of options to click.

Great and easy to use. Super affordable for someone who doesn't have terribly complicated taxes to file. I've been using the simple version for years and I have always gotten my information entered in correctly, as well as receiving my refunds in a shorter and timely manner. I don't feel a need to use the add-on services. You have the easy links to FAQ's on Turbotax, as well as the internet as your assistant. No need for live help for me.
