Bait-and-Switch

Turbo tax lures taxpayers with the "File Free" advertisements, even though 37% of people qualify. I feel this company is using the bait-and-switch method of getting more customers. Do you pay property taxes? Then you have to upgrade to the next level package ($49). Oh, do you also want to file state? Add another ($30). Want to direct deposit refund without waiting 21 days? ($25) You want to pay for these services out of your refund? ($40). I started at a free return and ended up having to pay $159
