You try to force people to itemize. For most people this is a waste of time. Before having the customer fill out the 1098s and other forms, just review the total deductables and see if it is close enough to the Standard Deduction to make itemizing worthwhile.

Overall it was a simple process as usual, but I was charged to file and don't feel I should have been because I had a simple 1040, no other forms

Where are my filing records

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years and as I tried to file for this year it said no record of me filing there last year. I see the payment history but no record. Makes no sense. Had to go to IRS to get my transcript so had to waste extra time for this
