I used desktop Turbotax for years and thought it was great. This Turbotax Online is awful. I will find new software for next year

Needs more cost transparency

The program is very easy to use, but it really feels like there is no real transparency about how much it is going to cost until you are already most of the way through filing. I have what should be a very simple return with very few credits/deductions and I feel like I was nickel and dimed to death to the tune of nearly $100 more than I expected to spend when I started. For how much advertising showing that you can file for free, it feels like very few people would actually be able to take advantage of that option.
