Looking else where next year

I've used Turbo Tax for years, 1 cause its easy to use with helpful key points 2 it saves me time having to have someone do them for me 3 it was free to use. But after filing my taxes this year it looks like I will be going to find another tax method next year since TurboTax is now adding all these charges, so instead of getting a tax refund I'm having to pay not the government but Turbo Tax and not getting a refund at all.

this is a familiar and handy tool for filing. however, I thought I qualified for free filing but somehow always end up paying - this time $189 which was over half my refund for a pretty simple return. You can't really see the return document until the end so you are stuck unless you want to start over with another option or diy. I just want to get it done and efiled so I can move on to other tasks. In past years, I have questioned whether all deductions were made and the end result was that I owed. I didn't file so I could correct that, but it is difficult without the software and limited knowledge so now I have past due returns. If you end up like this, then the app is not beneficial because the irs doesn't care why you are late and penalizes you
