I have been using Turbo Tax for the past 15 years, and the software is simple and straight-forward. Easy to use and very accurate.

Turbo tax has been a great way for me to do really standard taxes quickly. If you just have W2 income and normal deductions, it takes a lot of hassle out of the process by allowing you to do it fast, or at a slower pace if you need to pause and find something - even if that pause is a few days. I don't have to print things out or mail anything - I just login and go. Since my work uses Intuit for their payroll system, I also have my information already in there. It's about as easy as it gets... I can't speak to how easy it is if your taxes are more complicated, but I do know that sometimes certain questions can be confusing, even with the very easy way that I use it. Usually their provided answers clear it up, but sometimes they don't.
The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is more about the handfull of things that they just don't tell you. For example, you start your taxes using the "free" mode, which is "free for most people" so they say. I'm not sure how my taxes could get any easier, so if I don't qualify for the free version, I'm not sure who would. Also, this year, when I went to e-file I got a message that said "success", but after that a screen popped up saying that e-filing was unavailable for me. Very confusing. Why say success if it wasn't successful? Why not tell me the reason it's unavailable rather than it's just unavailable so I can understand what I have to do?
I googled the answer and found out that my state had just this year began to interface with TurboTax and allow the program to e-file in my state. I had to mail it in last year. However, that process hadn't been solidified yet between TurboTax and my state, so I just needed to wait like 4-5 days to file so the form could be updated. That would have been super easy to explain.
Similarly, I rent a home. I paused my taxes for a day so could locate the M1PR form I was sent and make sure I was entering the information correctly. After doing that and manually entering that information, THEN it told my that, by my income, I didn't qualify for the property tax refund. Why not tell me that before I go looking for the form? Just tell users "hey, if you make over X, just skip this part because it won't make a difference anyway". It's those small things that what's already a mostly easy process, just a bit more of a hassle in terms of total time spent. Still, total time on the app this year was just over an hour. That doesn't count time I had to pause to find a form I didn't actually need or waiting the days so my e-file would be accepted - I'm just talking total time on the app itself. If it was really just that amount of time and I was done, I'd be delighted, but those small little hold ups knock a star off for me.
