Turbo tax is NEVER free!

Started my free filing then upgraded to the $29 version as I went through the questions. Then at the very end Turbo tax claimed I needed to buy the deluxe version in order to file. Ended up paying close to $140 to file my taxes. I thought they got sued over this exact issue but I guess they more money scamming people then they lost in the suit.
Also I left and came back to my taxes a few times and every time I came back I would be ask a bunch of different questions in order to continue where I left off. It just seemed weird. I have filed with turbo tax for over 10 years and I think this will be my last time due to these concerns. I will also encourage others to file with a different company as well.

Sprang state fee after already filling it out

As soon as I entered the HMO information I should have been notified of the charge. Also, there should have been an option to change my mind and print and mail after seeing the fee. You got my money for state this time but won't get my state fee or my federal fee next time. I will go elsewhere.

Ease of use....look to Intuit TurboTax

Previously used another online tax service, eFile, which was very difficult to navigate and, thereby, use. Intuit TurboTax has been very easy to use and filing in prior years simplified the entire process.

TurboTax Expensive and Misleading

We ended up having to pay $140 for deluxe because of the amount of interest we made, but TurboTax didn't tell us until the end after we had filled out all of our info. At that point, it was too much work to switch to another platform which is probably part of their strategy. Still pretty annoyed at the lack of clarity and the high cost. Our taxes weren't even very complicated. We won't be using TurboTax again.
