Misleading “Free” Option

TurboTax promotes a “free” filing option for simple tax returns. I went in expecting to file for free, but as I got deeper into the process, I noticed hidden charges popping up. It was never clear when I started that I would be pushed into other plans.I was charged for a plan that I never agreed to or selected. At no point did I choose or want an upgraded version of their software, but TurboTax added features like live assistance and more complex filing options that I didn’t need. These were presented as “necessary” for my tax situation, even though I never asked for them. When I tried to remove them, it was a hassle. I felt like the process was designed to push me into spending more than I planned.Once I was done, I was hit with additional charges at the final step, and there was no clear breakdown of why they were necessary. The service didn’t feel transparent, and I was left feeling scammed after trusting their “free” claims. This will be the last year i go with turbotax

Ridiculous taxes and fees

Ridiculous taxes and fees! $40 fee to pay with your refund and an additional $40 fee for direct deposit and $25 fee to expedite the refund in 5 days. Turbo Tax is literally stealing
