Simple and Easy

I chose to file myself with AI assistance and it was a breeze. The step by step process was very user friendly and easy to navigate. Also, I loved the cash advance feature. Expect to spend $100-130 to file for simple federal and state forms and depending on how you choose to pay for the fees. I will definitely use this service again!

Not Satisfied with Free Turbo Tax (NOT FREE)

Do not like how tax credits are added, but then you have to upgrade to Deluxe to receive the credit. I only received $105.00 tax credit and ended up paying $88.00 (Federal and State). Overall only got an additional $17.00.

Slimy, Dishonest Turbo Tactics Strike Again

The sneaky tactics to capture your signature “consensually” and charge you fees you were never blatantly offered the option of taking get worse every year!!! This may be my last year with TurboTax. My tax situation isn’t even complex enough to not learn how to file on my own and for FREE. Nearing the end of my filing, I was only offered 2 options to deposit my refund, one being through their Credit Karma affiliated card and another through my bank, promising a 5 days early deposit for some odd reason. I get to one of the final pages and see an extra charge for $35 so I go back and review the section I had just selected from and now I’m offered FOUR options including the FREE standard deposit option which is what I was originally looking for! It’s sickening the lengths they’ll go to get a dollar!
