Neither my mom nor my Bride (smart as the latter is) would have been able to navigate this program because it is not simple and straight forward. It needs to be simplified. For example, yes, the person is over the age of 73 and collecting a pension. How on God's green earth are they supposed to have the patience to look up and see if what they are receiving is an RMD? It is not a box checked on the 1099-R. Why, in the light that civil service and annuity plans don't tell you that, is it even mentioned in TurboTax. A simple break from the confusion, please. Also, we need the freedom to change the account to receive the deposit when it is first presented in the program, not as an afterthought. I knew I did not want to deposit her money in the account listed because that account serves a totally different purpose for her this year. She has a second checking account to receive miscellaneous payments--like the tax refunds! Help old people out here! I'm a computer guy and I did not find the program as wonderfully compelling as it should be. Thank you.

Forced into paying for uncomplicated return!

I have been using Turbot tax for 10+ years and I have always found it to be easy. However, in the recent years I feel I have been getting ripped off. I have been forced to pay to file. Turbo tax says it is because my return is complex when the only difference is I added an unemployment form. This is a crock!!!!!! The unemployment form itself is literally 2 numbers. How is that complicated?! The only reason for 2 stars is because of the usual ease of filing.
