Confusing on pricing

When I started my taxes, stated to file federal it was free + $64 to file PA state taxes so I ended up paying $151.00 with tax.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

I paid 143 dollars for you to allow me to tell you what I made and tell the gov what I made even though everyone already knows. This has got to be the most insane timeline I've considered. WILD. It was not all the more convenient and I could have done it cheaper with a CPA. I picked the option that was "free". And it's not. So that's cool.

I completed it for free last year, and upon checking online information there still should have been a free option. But the UI didn't offer me a free option, I was forced to pay, or else abandon more than an hour of effort.
