TT Support is helpful

I was being charged about $190 to file taxes - Federal and 2 States - to get a refund of about $400. This charge I felt was too much for the amount of refund. I talked with Turbotax Support person, Samantha, who was gracious to provide me with a service code that took off my Federal and 1 State charges. The filing was accurate and worked great.

Not good

Too many fees. Automatically selected deluxe option without giving the customer the option. Eventually gave a different option to downgrade after multiple times clearing data. Downgrade option (when it became available) made customer aware it would not include a retirement credit if that was the selected choice, only to then force the customer to use that credit and make the tax return increase and then remind the customer that tax break/credit required deluxe option to file. If the customer is doing it themselves and not looking for extra tax breaks/credits then they shushing be charged for deluxe when they don’t want it or did not use it. Became very confusing and frustrating to navigate.

Confusing and pushes unnecessary upgrades

The process was too long and confusing, especially for simple situations. It kept pushing me to upgrade and pay for features that weren’t actually required. There was no clear option to skip certain sections, which made it feel like I was being forced into a purchase. Overall, not very user-friendly for something that should be straightforward.
