Never ending loop = Forced to overpay

I was caught in a never ending loop of being unable to downgrade by return to the free edition or clear my return because it had told me that I had already paid even though I had paid nothing. I wanted to add the max benefits option to my free return however it only showed me that option when I clicked the upgraded version - eventually I had tried to figure out how to get that set up so many times that it wouldn't even let me revert back to the free edition eventually. The only other option I had was to create a new account and start all over again which I didn't do because I have been using turbotax for years so it has years of information stored. So I ended up having to pay for the deluxe version ($79) and another $60 for state filing because I could no longer downgrade - only upgrade. Because, again, it told me that I had already paid for the service BUT I HAD PAID NOTHING. It's honestly ridiculous that you make a product selection that people can mistakenly click determinative of what final product they can choose and then state a reason that is categorically false. I have used turbotax for years and have always had a good experience but this might've ruined it for me.

Misleading information

At the end, I owed taxes. It looked as though paying the fees would pay my taxes as well as turbo tax fees. In the end, I paid 143.00 to get permission to pay my total state and federal taxes of 61.00.
