Not very enthused by our current 2 years of use

This is the second year in a row we have had issues trying to efile using TurboTax online. I even spoke with an associate to correct the issue which did not resolve my issue.

TurboTax False Advertises

TurboTax is such a scam. They say that it is free and the most simple of tax forms cost $143 to file! This is absolutely ridiculous. There is also no option where it can be free even when you are entering your own information. It is very confusing and you are almost forced to pay an unfair amount. When your income is only $10,000, this is sickening. Will not be recommending and will not be using again.

Confusing upsells and forced upgrades

The process felt unnecessarily confusing and full of upsells. I repeatedly got looped into upgrade screens just for trying to enter basic self-employment income and expenses. It wasn’t always clear what was required versus what was being pushed as a paid feature.
At multiple points, I had to work around the system just to input information correctly, and some fields didn’t auto-fill properly, which made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be.
For a product that’s supposed to simplify taxes, this felt overly complicated and at times misleading. Greater transparency around pricing and what’s actually required would make a big difference.
