IRS should be able to send statements

The IRS should be able to send out a pre-filled tax forms. They should fill them out, and we should double check it - they already do the calculations when you file to make sure you didn't make a mistake.

Still a bit confusing as to what stuff is. For someone that moved from Texas to California, the "domicile" part lacked guidance. Also, I saw nothing to file for Texas, even though i resided there for most of 2025... So I hope I don't get in trouble for that. Because it didn't pop up here at all.

Great Guide on Your Tax Journey

Great software but could use more plain language explanations or ask what level of experience one has with taxes to offer explanations and descriptions that help beginners with more detail and provide advanced commentary for expert users. Really appreciative of the emotional check-ins throughout.

Unfortunate monopoly

Turbotax did indeed make my filing pretty simple and I was able to finish in around an hour. That said, I wish TurboTax wasn't lining our politician's pockets to keep free, government based tax filing from being available. Normal countries just tell you what you owe or refund you. Turbotax pays the US government to make sure our hardest workers have to pay to file their taxes. Ok thanks xoxo
