Could not File Spouse SSN

I kept trying to restart and file my spouses "separately" because my wife does not have a SSN. but I got pushed forward in the process and couldn't go back. I was forced to pay to file and wouldn't let me restart application after payment. now I had to file my wife's SSN as a false one in order to file it. There was no easy button even after I PAID to contact help. I don't know if I will get to file now because TurboTax forced me to file a FALSE SSN for my wife.

Turbotax is full of gray patterns and hidden fees

As always the hidden fees and incorrectly auto filled information are major pain points. the ability to go back and edit any field of the return is the list you could offer for the price you charge. If you didn't make it so hard to file elsewhere I would never use this service again. You spend more time finding ways to scam your users than you do improving your software. How much money do you really need to syphon from people already under stress to pay for a site people use once a year. I understand it's a business but hiding every charge until the last possible second is disgusting.

TurboTax is plagued with dark/predatory design

Every year it gets tougher and tougher to find and start out with the do-it-yourself free version and upgrade only when necessary from there. Unless someone was tech savvy, it would be tough to not spend a lot of extra money on unnecessary services that don't benefit most people. TurboTax defaults you into these superfluous product tiers, and then you have to make serious effort to downgrade to products that are sufficient for your tax situation. This is very dark and predatory design that Intuit should be ashamed of.
The basic product does everything that most people need, in an accurate expeditious manner.

I dislike the fact that you waste your time to complete the State return as you think it is included free of charge. Along with this, the MANY other misleading factors to get you to spend more money.
