Turbo Tax is easy to use

Easy to file taxes yearly. Turbo tax keeps all info from previous years.

Good Deal

The Verdict: If you’re a National Guard member or someone working heavy overtime, TurboTax is a beast at finding the new 2025 deductions. It’s expensive, and the upselling is annoying, but it’s hard to beat for "audit-proofing" complex travel miles.
The Pros:
Overtime Master: It caught the new federal "No Tax on Overtime" deduction automatically. It pulled $1,313 off my taxable income without me having to dig through tax law books.
National Guard Friendly: It handled my 100-mile travel deduction (Form 2106) perfectly. It helped me calculate over 4,000 miles for drills at Camp Shelby and Columbia, which added nearly $3k to my deductions.
State Specifics: It correctly applied the Mississippi STRONG Act exclusion, making my Guard pay 100% tax-free at the state level.
The Cons:
The "Upsell" Gauntlet: It tries to make you pay for "Expert Help" and "Max Protection" every three clicks. You have to stay focused to avoid the extra fees.
Confusing Terminology: Some screens, like "Vehicle Basis" and "AMT Depreciation," are worded in total legalese. I had to do my own math to realize entering "0" was the right move.
Price: It’s definitely the priciest option. You're paying for the "interview" style that does the thinking for you.
