Pulling Teeth

Horrible. It was supposed to take 58min. I spent over 2.5 hours and NEVER got my NM state taxes done. You do not include any provision for including a VERY IMPORTANT FORM (NM PIT-RC) in doing the stt taxes. This makes your state tax prep WORTHLESS!!!! I now have to do that by hand!!!! The old fashioned way!!!! Also, your refund fees and refund methods are horrible. You never offer direct deposit until your method was REJECTED.

i think there is room for improving your interfacing with the average user of your product. Have a few gatherings of turbotax users & pick their brains for improvements (mainly "KISS" (Keeping It Simple, Stupid). Streamline it more talk "blue collar" language.

Not the Value It Used to Be

TurboTax is still fairly easy to use, but this year felt more frustrating than in the past. There were some redundant prompts and questions, which I understand may be related to liability and compliance, but it made the process feel longer than necessary. What stood out most were the hidden fees. Charges like third party processing for a direct deposit refund were not very transparent. Overall, it does not feel like as strong of a value as it used to be. We will likely shop around and compare other options next year.
