I will always keep a bottle of Drano in the house!

I decided to wash a thick, woven, cotton rug that was not coming clean with the garden hose or leaving it out in the rain on a fence, so I put it by itself in my washing machine. AGH!!! the water didn't go down, the drain was plugged with debris from the rug. I am 70, have no mechanical skills and live alone, and did I say I was cheap - and scared that I had ruined my washing machine. The Sanitary cycle left over a bucket of water that I removed by hand with a couple of sponges. Next day I went to a large hardware store and bought a bottle of Drano Gel Max. Again I ran the cycle but with the addition of the Drano. When the suds cleared, the washing drum was DRY!!! Praise the inventive minds who invented Drano. Much thanks!!!

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. Living in a house with old pipes - and several girls with long hair - slow, clogged drains are a common occurrence in my household. I always have good luck getting things moving again with Drano. I liked the gel version as it seemed thicker and less likely to dissolve in water. I didn't need to use as much as with other formulas. It's much cheaper than calling a plumber and I can do it myself. I always keep some on hand for sudden drain emergencies!

My garden tub is constantly becoming clogged with dust etc and this product has it completely unclogged in less than an hour. I do recommend using really hot water from a different sink to flush behind it so there's no waiting time for the water to be hot enough!

My drain wasn't exactly fully clogged and stopped up but it was running much slower than I'd like and water was backing up into the sink in using the Drano max gel it completely dissolved the solids that were causing the buildup and now my drain is running smoothly I was very happy with the product.

I poured half of the 32oz container in my bathtub drain and let it sit at least 30 minutes then flushed with hot water and the water took over an hour to drain. Repeated same step and 2 hours later the water is still in the tub. Definitely not a satisfied customer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
