My husband and I bought this bluray player in Mid December of 2012. We used it relatively frequently for about 5 months, then suddenly it would no longer power on. We had it plugged into a surge protector, in a entertainment unit, adult-used only. We tried moving it to other outlets and nothing worked. Unfortunately, I misplaced the receipt, so I can't even take advantage of the manufacturer's warranty. We ended up buying a different model, since the store we purchased from was unable to help us. What a waste of money..
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the Blue Ray player. It was great deal. I have experienced one problems on occasion, namely, that the screen will freeze when I am on Netflix. I have had to completely shut down the system and start over. I called in the last time and received great support. I have successfully used the remedy a time or two since. Overall, I am satisfied with the player.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: screen freezes when on netflix occasionally

I like the design on this bluray player. It has nice built in apps but it freezes a lot. I dont use it for any of the streaming purposes that I though I would. Movies look great on this player.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, freezes

Can't Access Amazon Instant Video

I bought this (1) to get Blu-Ray, which works, and (2) to be able to use the internet access feature to view videos from Amazon, which capability this device DOES NOT HAVE, and Samsung appears unwilling to offer this, as do other manufacturers. WHY?
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no amazon instant video connectivity
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After looking at what I needed in a blu-ray, the Samsung filled the void. The cost of the device with the built in Wi Fi was the initial reason why I went with the device. but after getting it home and using it, we bought another for our other TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

It is an ok player, but very hard to set up some of the free accounts, especiallt the Samsung Allshare. I cannot get that to work with my computer.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations

Power indicator light should be on the front so you can tell if the unit is on. Little blue dot is not helpful when using apps and not playing a dvd. Also had the issue with Netflix subtitles freezing.
Pros: good unit for the price, movie and video apps
Cons: neflix subtitles freeze, no power indicator on front

Purchased this product over a year ago when looking for a wi-fi blu-ray player. Picked this up on a Black Friday deal and it has been a headache ever since. The connection is horrible for wi-fi streaming, no matter how close the player is to the modem. It was a decent dvd player, despite the slow load times, but now that is shot too. As of last night it stopped reading discs. We are replacing it with a streaming receiver and a different brand DVD player.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
